Meet Samarth Trivedi, Application Engineer at CCTY’s India office. With a background in mechanical engineering and hands-on manufacturing experience, Samarth brings a practical approach to solving complex motion-control challenges.
Tell us a little about yourself and your professional background. What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering?
I hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and began my professional journey as a Production Executive before joining CCTY as an Application Engineer. My experience in production helped me develop a practical understanding of manufacturing processes and real-world engineering challenges. My interest in application analysis, technical problem-solving, and providing engineering support to customers inspired me to pursue a career in application engineering, where I can combine technical knowledge with practical problem-solving to develop effective solutions for diverse applications.
What do you enjoy most about application engineering?
What I enjoy most about application engineering is the combination of application analysis, technical problem-solving, and developing solutions tailored to specific requirements. Every application presents unique challenges, which makes it exciting to understand the customer’s needs and explore the most effective way to address them.
I find it particularly interesting to understand how a bearing functions within an overall system and identify solutions that offer the right balance of performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to turn real-world challenges into practical and effective solutions makes application engineering both rewarding and a continuous learning experience.
What do you think is the most important factor when helping a customer select or develop the right bearing or motion control component for an application?
I believe the most important factor is developing a thorough understanding of the application and its operating requirements before recommending a solution. Selecting the right bearing or motion control component involves more than simply matching dimensions; it requires an understanding of how the entire system will behave under real world conditions, including the physical forces it will face, how fast or precisely it needs to move, and the environment it will operate in.
It is also essential to understand the customer’s priorities and constraints to identify the most suitable solution in terms of performance, reliability, and overall cost. As an Application Engineer, my goal is to bridge the gap between customer requirements and engineering capabilities, ensuring that the selected component delivers dependable performance throughout the application’s lifecycle.
Are there particular industries or applications you’re excited to work with?
Industrial automation and the advancement of smart manufacturing technologies are among the engineering trends I find particularly exciting. The growing adoption of automation across industries is creating new opportunities for innovative bearing and motion control solutions that enhance equipment performance, precision, and reliability.
I am especially excited about working in the automotive, industrial manufacturing and automation, and off-highway and heavy infrastructure equipment sectors. Each of these industries presents unique engineering challenges and evolving application requirements, creating opportunities to develop innovative solutions and explore new possibilities.
What excites me most is the opportunity to work across diverse applications, continuously expand my technical knowledge, and contribute to engineering solutions that improve equipment performance and reliability.
What attracted you to CCTY?
What attracted me most to CCTY is its ability to thrive in applications where conventional solutions may not be sufficient. This creates opportunities to work on a wide variety of challenging engineering requirements, making every project a new learning experience.
I am excited about tackling complex engineering challenges, understanding unique customer requirements, and collaborating with the team to develop innovative and optimized solutions. I look forward to contributing to projects where engineering expertise, creativity, and teamwork come together to solve problems that push beyond conventional approaches.
