EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: ROB SASAKI

CCTY

Rob Sasaki recently graduated from Marquette University in Wisconsin with a degree in accounting and finance. Before beginning his financial services role at a consulting firm in October, he is studying for the Certified Public Accountant exam and supporting CCTY with special projects.

At CCTY what does a typical day look like for you?

I work on special projects for CCTY four days a week. These projects include preparing for the IPO and assisting Traci Fritz with tariff refunds. A typical day can be combing through cliet invoices to highlight refund opportunities or assisting the auditors.

What is something that surprised you about CCTY?

My background is in the services industry, so working for a product-based company is eye opening. I like seeing how the sales team takes care of the customers and that their progress can be easily quantified.

This experience has also helped me better understand the impact of tariffs on businesses. Before, I only noticed tariffs as prices in stores. Now, I see how they can affect both manufacturers and their customers.

Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing with your time?

I’m studying for the CPA exam and have passed two of the four sections. Aside from that, hockey and golf take up much of my time, along with working out at the gym. With my friends I like playing Xbox. I also enjoy listening to podcasts.
