Why Robotic Bearing Bore Size Matter

Robotic bearing bore size directly impacts the performance, fit, and functionality of a robotic system.

Proper Bearing Fit – Precision fit means that the bore and shaft diameter match. If the fit is loose, it can lead to slippage and misalignment. When the fit is too tight, it introduces friction and can result in vibration and wobbling.

Load Distribution – Bearings are designed to handle specific loads – both radial and axial. Incorrect bore sizing can unevenly shift the load across the bearing, which reduces the life of the bearing and efficiency. Even small deviations can lead to performance issues.

Accurate Assembly – Improper sizing can lead to excessive force during assembly that can damage the shaft or housing. The right-sized bearing will ease the assembly process while preventing maintenance issues.
